Hi! We’re Chelsea and Jason.
how it started…
We met in 2016 in North Carolina and fell in love instantly. Seeking our place in the world, we downsized two years later to a 19ft Scamp camper named Hippo and spent most of 2019 traveling the country, exploring cities and towns, and visiting National Parks with our dog and cats in tow.
Mid-2020 found us quarantining in Philadelphia, feeling restless and cooped up (like most people during COVID). Longing for space, quiet, and the ocean, we visited Cape Cod for the first time that September. Within six months, we were closing on the Captain Uriel Doane house, a grand behemoth that had seen better days. Our next adventure had begun.
….how it’s going
This has easily been that hardest thing we’ve ever undertaken. We jumped headfirst into restoring our new home with the hope that one day we would be able to open her doors so that guests could appreciate her character like we do. After having to cancel our wedding (originally scheduled for April 2020), we put all of our efforts into preparing the house and grounds into a venue where we could invite all of our friends and family to celebrate. And in September 2023, we did just that.
